I was (frantically) cleaning my office in preparation for getting the house Show Ready, when i realized Piggy hadn’t had a change of scenery in a while. So I popped her in here and asked her what she thought.
She gave it a thumbs way up.
Thanks to the amazingly awesome Tanya Michaels, I’ve had a new companion on my recent days and days on the road.
You may all proceed to be exceedingly jealous.
Piggy and I were lucky enough to spend this weekend at a friend’s lakefront cottage in the company of some other writer buds. It was a mite chilly on Saturday, but hey – that just made it easier to hunker down and focus on the pages. (There were 20 of them.) Sunday was a gorgeous reward day – more pages, sunshine, and this as our view:
With a view like that, it doesn’t even matter that we blew the main breaker and had no power ……
Tonight! The Muppets premiere happens tonight! Piggy and I have stocked up on chips, put fresh batteries in the remote, and cleaned the TV screen. (Okay, I did all of those. Piggy was busy granting interviews and having her make-up touched up. Photo ops, you know.) We’re counting down the hours. Cue the magic!
Tomorrow – September the 19th – be International Talk Like a Pirate Day. I’m hoping you’ve all been polishing yer boots and patching yer eye patches.
There be lots of ideers all over th’Internet as to how to be celebratin’ the day. I’m thinkin’ ’bout some rum, some Johnny Depp, some blood-heating music …
Or should we be doin’ some Muppets? There be a fine Piggy movie that would work for the day. Muppet Treasure Island. After all, that be the movie with the best innuendo ever slipped into a family flick.
Argh, matey. That be the ticket!
Now that the news of Piggy’s split from Kermit has died down, it’s time for this girl to move on. She knows that a gal doesn’t need a man – or even a frog – to make her complete. But really, everyone deserves to be pampered or adored, don’t they? And so Piggy is currently holding auditions for the role of Chief Pamperer and Adorer.
Since Piggy has a background as an astronaut, it only makes sense that she would be sympatico with a fellow traveler of the stars. Commander Chris Hadfield has the training to communicate with Piggy and – thanks to his social media outreach, books, and recordings – is familiar with the pressures of being a media darling. Who knows what heights they could reach together?
In case you haven’t heard yet, the recent days have been difficult ones for Piggy. The official word:
“After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, Miss Piggy made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship. We will continue to work together on television (“The Muppets”/Tuesdays 8pm this fall on ABC) and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe. However, our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al. This is our only comment on this private matter. Thank you for your understanding.”
She hasn’t told me much else about this, other than to laugh at those rumors that Kermit is seeing another frog. It’s a busy time for her, with the new show starting this fall, and even if she had the time she’s never been one to dwell on the past.
But I have noticed that her karate chops have seemed a little more forceful lately …
Piggy and I had an ah-maz-ing trip to the RWA National Conference last week. Let me share some of the highlights with you.
There’s one more picture I’d like to share with you, of someone who’s going to play a big part in Piggy’s career over the next while. But you’re going to have to wait a day or two.
Here’s a hint, though. Remember these?
This is the last week of full days of school. Next week, the girls go for four half days (translation: Tsarina leaves at 8:45, HRH is home at 10:30, oh dear heavens how will I get anything done?), and then it’s – yep – summer vacation. So this week it’s all writing, all the time, me on one keyboard and Piggy on another.
Pray for us.
It was a meeting of the Beautiful People when Piggy met Blondie, the beautiful dog featured on the cover of the Comfort Food Mystery Series by Christine Wenger.
It was their first meeting, so Blondie had to start with a sniff.
Then they spent some time chitchatting about photographers and the paparazzi and their latest appearances. Piggy discussed writing an editorial for Time magazine to accompany her recent recognition as a feminist icon. Blondie shared some dirt on the photo shoot for Macaroni and Freeze, the soon-to-be-released (but available for pre-order now!) installment in the Comfort Food series.
Apparently that floor was so cold, Blondie had to be wrapped in hot towels between takes. The things one must do when one is an icon!
After a great deal of laughter and sharing, the two made their farewells and parted with a kiss. Au revoir, cherie!
