I had never done a collaborative project before the Falling For You anthology, but it turned out to be an amazing experience, in ways I expected and in those I never would have predicted.
I’d been lucky enough to meet most of my fellow authors at various RWA conferences over the years. I knew that they were determined, talented, funny women and that they would be a joy to work with. What I couldn’t have predicted was how much they would teach me – about publicity, about resources, about finding creative solutions to dilemmas.
And when the news came out that the Superromance line was being discontinued, these ladies became my lifeline. They were the only ones who could truly understand the impact of the news. They shared my concern about our editors. We traded news and strategized together and encouraged each other to try new lines and directions. They were a Godsend – and that’s not a term I use lightly.
Here’s to my Super sisters. Long may we shore each other up and cheer each other on.
