We’re big fans of Chinese food here at Casa Chaos, but while our local take-out place is EXCELLENT, ordering from there more than once a month or so is not only expensive, it’s not the healthiest. So I’m forever trying new take-out style recipes to see how they compare. This one was a winner.
I used this recipe as my base. After reading a lot of the comments, I made the following changes:
- doubled the sauce and marinade
- added a lot of vegetables – sugar snap peas, pepper strips, broccoli, onions, water chestnuts
- left the peanuts out and let folks add their own as desired (Tsarina has orthodontic work that precludes nuts)
We ate it over noodles. (Probably whole wheat spaghetti, because that’s what we usually have on hand.) It was a hit with everyone, which is all I need to add a recipe to the KEEPER pile.
